2024 was a busy year at the Colorado State Legislature regarding land use policies!
Several bills were enacted that require the Adams County Community and Economic Development Department to amend our Development Standards and Regulations (Land Use Code) in order to be compliant with new state statutes by certain deadlines. The below state statutes apply; click on their links to read the bill language.
SB24-048 - Substance Use Disorders Recovery (went into effect August 7, 2024)HB24-1007 - Concerning Residential Occupancy Limits (went into effect July 1, 2024)HB24-1304 - Eliminating Minimum Parking Requirements (deadline is June 30, 2025)HB24-1152 - Accessory Dwelling Units (deadline is June 30, 2025)
To remain compliant, Adams County Community and Economic Development Department has drafted amendments to the Development Standards and Regulations. These amendments can be found below:
